Our Story
Slowing down, getting into the dirt, and finding out what really matters — one seed at a time.
Where it started
Sow Motion was born out of a simple frustration: why is grocery food so expensive, so mysterious, and so disconnected from where it actually comes from?
I started gardening not because I had a green thumb — I absolutely did not — but because I needed to know what was in my food. What started as a few containers on a patio turned into a full backyard garden, a obsession with seed saving, and a genuine love for the slow, intentional rhythm of growing your own.
Along the way, I kept losing track of what I planted, when I planted it, what worked, and what definitely didn't. I tried apps. I tried plain notebooks. Nothing was built for the way a gardener actually thinks. So I built my own — and that became My Plant Diary.
Sow Motion is for everyone who feels the pull toward a more intentional, self-sufficient life — even if you're just starting with a single pot of basil on a windowsill. You don't need a lot of space. You just need to start.
What we believe
We live in a world that rewards fast. Gardening asks you to slow down, pay attention, and trust the process. That's not a limitation — it's the lesson.
When you grow it yourself, you know exactly what's in it. No labels to decode. No mystery ingredients. Just seeds, soil, sunlight, and water.
The gardeners who improve fastest are the ones who write things down. That's why the Plant Diary exists — to turn your experience into knowledge.
No gatekeeping here. Gardening is too good to keep to yourself. Share what you know, ask what you don't, and grow alongside others doing the same.
